Born and raised in Watts, Los Angeles, D McCoy is a filmmaker whose work is rooted in the power of perspective. Shaped by the rhythm and resilience of his community, D approaches storytelling as both a mirror and a bridge — a way to reveal truth, honor culture, and reimagine the narratives that define us.

After earning a Bachelor’s in Film Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, D spent two years in New York honing his craft as a documentary producer, gaining hands-on experience across short-form and feature-length projects that explored culture, identity, and the human spirit.

Now back in Los Angeles, D is developing new productions through 88CrossRoads, a creative house born from the intersection of purpose and passion. Through this work, he continues to build cinematic worlds that give voice to the unseen and celebrate the beauty within struggle, survival, and self-discovery.
